Construction projects and issues on, or close to, the trail.
LBJ/635 at Park Central
The trail has been closed until the end of August due to heavy construction along the westbound access road of LBJ. A signed detour from Valley View Park (north of LBJ) to Anderson Bonner Park (south of LBJ) via the Cottonwood Trail has been set up. A PDF version of the official detour map can be downloaded here and a Google Maps version can be viewed using this link.
There are lots of other detour options available. Please leave a comment if you have a favorite.
Northwest Highway and West Lawther Drive
A temporary detour has been set up by TxDOT during reconstruction of Northwest Highway. This involves using temporary asphalt paths on the north and south sides of NW Highway to reach the signal at the DART rail station about 300 yards west of West Lawther Drive. Estimated completion date for this project is May of 2012.
Once the construction on Northwest Highway is complete, there will be an entirely new section of the White Rock Creek Trail under the highway that reconnects with the White Rock Lake Trail. This detour will likely remain in place until sometime in 2012.

WRC trail is closed at LBJ/park central, as of 6-14-12 10am
